Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Conflicts Specialist to support a global conflicts and compliance function across multiple offices and jurisdictions. This role works closely with firm leadership and international partners to identify and evaluate potential conflicts of interest, research prospective clients and related entities, maintain the firm’s conflicts database, and assist with implementing and monitoring information barriers. The Conflicts Specialist plays a key role in the day-to-day processing of conflict checks for new clients, new matters, pitches, and other firm initiatives. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and capable of handling sensitive information with discretion while ensuring timely turnaround and clear communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Process conflict checks for new clients, new matters, pitches, and other firm requests
- Manage conflicts intake and tracking through the conflict check system, including monitoring the queue and email requests
- Research prospective clients, related entities, and opposing parties to support conflicts analysis
- Maintain and update the firm’s conflicts database to ensure accurate and complete records
- Assist with drafting, implementing, and monitoring information barriers (ethical walls) and compliance requirements
- Respond to internal questions related to conflicts procedures and conflict clearance status
- Support the briefing and onboarding of new attorney hires on conflicts procedures and systems
- Collaborate with conflicts and compliance personnel across international offices to support global conflict clearance
- Assist with evaluating new tools and software solutions to improve conflicts workflow and efficiency
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Minimum of 1 year of conflicts experience preferred, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with consistent accuracy
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information professionally
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and propose solutions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) required
- Experience with conflicts software preferred (Intapp strongly preferred)
- Salary Range: $65,000 – $85,000 annually
