Compensation: $23.70 – $30/hour (Dependent on Experience)

Schedule: Full-Time, Part-Time, or Per Diem
TAG MedStaffing is urgently hiring a Paraprofessional (Manhattan Schools) in Manhattan, NY for our client, supporting K–12 students across New York City school settings. This role provides academic, behavioral, and classroom support to students with developmental, special education, and learning needs through one-on-one and small group instruction. The Paraprofessional will partner with teachers and school staff to foster student engagement, reinforce learning objectives, and help create a positive and structured learning environment.
Responsibilities as the Paraprofessional (Manhattan Schools):
- Student Support: Provide individualized and small group support to students with academic, behavioral, developmental, and special education needs.
- Instructional Assistance: Reinforce lesson plans, classroom activities, and educational goals under the direction of the teacher.
- Classroom Management: Help maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success.
- Behavioral Intervention: Implement behavioral support strategies and assist with student engagement, focus, and social development.
- Collaboration & Documentation: Communicate with teachers and school staff regarding student progress and maintain required documentation as needed.
Qualifications for the Paraprofessional (Manhattan Schools):
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Certification: Teacher Assistant (TA), Home Health Aide (HHA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
- Experience: Prior experience as a Paraprofessional, Teacher Assistant, Teacher Aide, HHA, CNA, or in a similar support role is required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience supporting children or individuals with special needs is required.
- Technical Skills: Ability to provide classroom, behavioral, or one-on-one support while following instructional plans is required.
- Skills & Attributes: Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, school staff, and families are required.
