Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) Assistant Manager - La Porte, IN

We are hiring an EHS Assistant Manager for a newly created role with strong growth potential as the company continues to expand. This position supports bakery operations by ensuring compliance with all EHS regulations while driving risk reduction, injury prevention, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and execute EHS programs, policies, and site-specific initiatives
- Assist with OSHA, EPA, and state/local compliance and inspections
- Conduct risk assessments and support incident investigations
- Track and analyze safety metrics (TRIR, LTIR, near-misses)
- Assist with audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement efforts
- Support EHS training and mentor site safety teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
- 3–5 years of EHS experience (manufacturing preferred; food/CPG a plus)
- Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
- Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- ASP/CSP/CIH certification and bilingual skills a plus
- Ability to travel up to 25% (Domestic, state-wide); valid driver’s license required
