Overview
ISS is seeking multiple Regional Safety Managers / Safety Engineers to support Data Center planning & delivery programs across multiple project locations, including Lubbock, TX, and South Bend, IN.
This role will operate as a regional H&S leader, partnering internally with our client’s project teams and externally with General Contractors and suppliers to drive safety across the full lifecycle of data center development, from due diligence through construction and commissioning.
This is a high-impact, program-level role combining field presence, strategic influence, and operational execution within one of the most advanced construction environments in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and deploy Safety Management Program (SMP) requirements across regional projects
- Partner with internal stakeholders, including:
- Real Estate, Due Diligence, Permitting
- Pre-Construction, Construction, Commissioning
- Energy, Water, Security, Procurement
- Serve as a key liaison to General Contractors and our client’s suppliers, ensuring alignment with H&S expectations
- Conduct site visits, audits, and performance evaluations across active construction projects
- Influence and support the development of regional safety strategy, frameworks, and programs
- Deploy and manage programs focused on:
- Leadership engagement
- Planning and operational controls
- Continuous improvement initiatives
- Performance management and reporting
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Identify gaps in contractor safety performance and drive corrective actions through collaboration and influence
- Support data-driven decision making and continuous improvement initiatives
Work Environment
- 30% Field / 70% Office-based role
- Based in-region with consistent presence on active data center construction campuses
- Occasional travel to additional domestic project locations
- Highly collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment
Qualifications
Required:
- 6 years of experience in EHS, compliance, audit, or risk management
- Experience supporting construction, industrial, or mission-critical environments
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, reporting, data analysis)
- Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and safety management systems
Preferred:
- Experience supporting data center or large-scale construction programs
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement methodologies
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience
