Construction Safety Manager
Overview
The Construction Safety Manager will be responsible for supporting and enforcing site safety programs across active construction projects. This individual will partner closely with field teams, contractors, and leadership to promote a proactive safety culture, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in safety performance. The ideal candidate brings strong field presence, analytical capability, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the job site.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead implementation and oversight of site-specific safety programs and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, and local regulatory requirements
- Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and safety observations to identify risks and enforce standards
- Partner with construction teams and subcontractors to drive safe work practices and accountability
- Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions for diverse project teams
- Lead incident investigations, including root cause analysis and identification of systemic contributing factors
- Analyze safety data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement; implement corrective actions accordingly
- Communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders, including field teams, project leadership, and external partners
- Provide coaching and mentorship to site personnel to strengthen overall safety culture
Required Qualifications
- 7–10 years of construction safety experience in active jobsite environments
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety standards
- Proven experience conducting incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Ability to interpret safety data and translate insights into actionable improvements
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience facilitating meetings, trainings, and safety presentations
- Ability to physically navigate and perform inspections on active construction sites daily
Preferred Qualifications
- CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) certification strongly preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Work Environment
- Field-based role requiring daily presence on active construction sites
- Exposure to typical construction site conditions, including varied weather and terrain
