Associate - Intellectual Property

Syntax Talent is seeking a highly skilled Associate specializing in Intellectual Property to join our team in Chicago, IL. The successful candidate will collaborate with partners and senior associates to manage a diverse range of intellectual property matters, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets.

Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management and Strategy: Work with partners and senior associates to manage IP cases and develop strategic approaches for clients.
- IP Prosecution and Portfolio Management: Draft and prosecute patent and trademark applications before the USPTO and manage global IP portfolios.
- IP Litigation Support: Assist in all phases of IP litigation, including conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, preparing discovery responses, and supporting trials in federal courts or before administrative bodies like the PTAB and TTAB.
- Client Advisory: Provide clients with strategic advice on IP management, risk assessment, and protection of intellectual assets.
- Due Diligence and Transactions: Conduct IP due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, and licensing transactions, and assist in negotiating licensing and technology collaboration agreements.
- Legal Research and Analysis: Perform comprehensive legal research and draft memoranda and legal opinions on IP-related issues, including patentability, infringement, and validity.

Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Bar in Illinois.
- Strong skills in case management, strategy development, and legal research.
- Excellent communication and advisory abilities.
- Experience in IP prosecution, litigation support, and managing IP portfolios.
