About the Role:
As a Senior Accountant, you will own day-to-day accounting operations across multiple business units, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance in a high-transaction environment. You will be a key driver of process improvement, using automation and AI-enabled tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual work. Your work will provide leadership with reliable financial insights to support decision-making and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle accounting for rental and production divisions, including high-volume AP, AR, and general ledger activities.
- Prepare, review, and post journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close activities to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Maintain and refine the chart of accounts and accounting structures to support scaling operations and new business initiatives.
- Develop, implement, and maintain automated workflows to reduce manual data entry and repetitive tasks across accounting processes.
- Monitor transaction flows, identify anomalies or errors, and resolve issues proactively with internal stakeholders and external partners.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis by providing clean, well-structured financial data and schedules.
- Collaborate with operations and leadership to translate financial data into actionable insights for business performance and cost control.
- Assist with audit preparation, compliance requirements, and documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
Key Requirements:
- Strong core accounting acumen with a solid understanding of GAAP and full-cycle accounting.
- Proven experience working in a high-transaction volume environment, ideally across multiple business lines or entities.
- Demonstrated willingness and ability to automate repetitive accounting tasks using technology and workflow tools.
- Comfortable operating in a startup or fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and evolving processes.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ownership over the quality of financial data.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and identify process improvements.
- Proficiency with modern accounting software and cloud-based tools; ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with non-finance stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Sage Intacct and/or Bill.com in a multi-entity or high-volume setting.
- Exposure to AI-native, agentic, or automation tools (e.g., RPA, scripting, or workflow automation platforms).
- Background in rental, production, or similar asset-intensive industries.
- Experience building or refining accounting processes and controls in a growth-stage company.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
