SUNY Delhi seeks a dynamic, forward-thinking, and engaging full-time, tenure-track Residential Construction: Carpentry/Masonry faculty member to join the School of Applied Technologies and Architecture starting August 2026. Desired candidates shall be comfortable teaching both technical and practical applications of residential construction and carpentry as a whole, in a lecture and lab setting. Depending on their expertise, the selected candidate may be involved with courses in the following subject areas: finish carpentry, plans and specifications, mechanical systems, woodworking, light framing, construction safety, remodeling, masonry, employment skills, small construction business operations, estimating and/or advanced framing. Some experience in teaching or working with young adults is also desirable.

Faculty members in the School of Applied Technologies and Architecture programs are responsible for the following:

Program Development

  • Participate in annual systematic assessment of program
  • Participate in analyzing data and making recommendations for curriculum and programmatic revisions where necessary

Teaching Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence-based instruction in accordance with the policies set forth by the College
  • Post and keep regular office hours for the convenience of students
  • Participate in the assessment of course, student learning, and program outcomes
  • Incorporate student service learning opportunities

Advisement

  • Assist in advisement of students
  • Guide and counsel students toward personal and career development
  • Track student's completion of progression requirements

Academic & Organization Commitment

  • Serve on campus committees
  • Mentoring Adjunct Faculty
  • Participate in full and part-time faculty meetings
  • Participate in accreditation reviews and reports

  • Engage in the academic and organizational life of the college

  • Pursue scholarly interests




Job Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in related field and 5 years of relevant experience
  • High school diploma and 20 years of relevant experience (degree completion requirements apply)
  • Demonstrated teaching and training ability
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record by time of appointment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Teaching experience
  • OSHA 10 or 30-Hour certification
  • OSHA 500-Hour certification

Additional Information:
  • Salary $48,000 - $53,000
  • This is a 10-month academic year, tenure track position This position offers full New York State UUP (FT) benefits which are among the most comprehensive in the country with an excellent fringe benefits package
