The OCCE Student Assistant is a key member of a student team that supports the Coordinator of the OCCE, assists in running the Center as well as the Regalia Food Pantry & Career Closet, and helps students learn about volunteer opportunities on campus and in the community.
Job Duties:
- Oversee the OCCE common area - keep the lounge & storage areas clean and organized, greet and engage visitors to the Center, answer the phone and check email/voicemail messages, and serve as a representative of the OCCE mission at all times;
- Manage Regalia - assist students, restock the pantry & clothes items, keep the store clean and organized, process donations, and track number of visitors;
- Assist with Bronco Connect - assist with tracking service hours, generating reports, posting events, and managing the OCCE organization page in Bronco Connect;
- Implement Marketing - assist with the implementation of volunteer recruitment, the advertising of events & volunteer opportunities, and publicity for Regalia (to include flyers, digital screens, social media posts, tabling, and Bronco Connect);
- Represent the Center at College Events - promote OCCE & Regalia at Admissions events, Activity Fairs, and other campus events;
- Lead Community Service Project - coordinate & lead at least one community service project each semester;
- Assist with OCCE Signature Events - assist the coordinator with planning, prepping, and implementing the Center's Signature Events, including Community Service Day, the Citizenship Awards Ceremony, the Community Picnic, Blood Drives, and more;
- Attend Required Meetings - participate in staff training & regularly scheduled staff meetings;
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Must be customer service oriented with professional presentation
- Must possess a genuine enthusiasm for community service & helping others
- Must be reliable and trustworthy, and possess strong organizational skills
- Must have a minimum 2.0 GPA
- Must be and remain in good academic and judicial standing
Additional Information:
- Wage: $16.00/hr
- Approximately 10 hours a week during the academic year, to include some evening/weekend work upon request
- Beginning late August and continuing into December
