Responsibilities
- Prepare a variety of deli items with precision, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes and menu standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, braising units, poaching stations, and food production appliances safely and efficiently
- Execute food preparation tasks including grilling, braising, poaching, and meal assembly in high-volume production settings
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitizing procedures to ensure a clean and safe work environment
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients for daily specials and catering orders
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling protocols to ensure quality and safety
- Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized meals according to dietary guidelines and restrictions
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in fine dining or high-volume kitchens
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitizing procedures
- Experience with food handling, recipe adherence, and operating kitchen equipment efficiently
- Background in dietary aide work or dietary department experience is a plus
- Ability to work quickly under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
