Job Title: Instructional Designer

Pay Rate: $30 – $35 per hour (W2)

Location: Hybrid – Draper, Utah 84020

Duration: 6-Month Contract

Work Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. MST

Interview Process: Multiple rounds (most likely 2–3 one-on-one interviews)


Special Skills and Tools:

Experience with Asana, Docebo, Articulate 360 (Rise/Storyline), Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, graphic design, adult learning theory, and e-learning design.


Additional Information:

  • Local candidates to Draper, UT preferred
  • Must have experience in e-learning design and strong knowledge of adult learning theory
  • Hybrid schedule: 3 days in-office (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Excellent organization and prioritization abilities
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently

Job Description

Scope & Complexity – Design and Create Learning Materials

  • Design, develop, and maintain learning programs and materials supporting multiple departments within Risk Operations.
  • Ensure training materials align with company brand guidelines and deliver a cohesive learner experience.
  • Recommend training solutions that address business needs and performance gaps.
  • Create content for both digital and in-person delivery, supporting future trainer-led opportunities.


Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with stakeholders to define learning goals, objectives, and success metrics.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to align training solutions with business priorities.


Project Management

  • Manage multiple instructional design projects simultaneously, maintaining priorities and timelines.
  • Collaborate effectively with teammates and subject matter experts (SMEs).


Measurement & Reporting

  • Track and report key learning metrics, engagement, and training effectiveness.
  • Use data and feedback to improve learning programs and outcomes continuously.


Autonomy

  • Manage projects independently with accountability and initiative.
  • Use effective tools and communication for project success.
  • Work with minimal supervision on both routine and complex tasks.
  • May occasionally facilitate or deliver training sessions.


Collaboration & Teamwork

  • Share best practices to enhance the overall learning and development function.
  • Collaborate across teams to align learning objectives with business needs.
  • Contribute to scalable design templates and processes for efficient content creation.


Knowledge & Experience

  • Translate complex content into structured, engaging learning experiences.
  • Design measurable learning objectives, assessments, and activities that drive behavior change.
  • Apply adult learning principles, instructional design models (ADDIE, SAM), and blended learning strategies.
  • Evaluate training requests for alignment with business goals and operational needs.
  • Maintain awareness of organizational goals, metrics, and compliance requirements.
  • Design programs focused on improving skill, knowledge, confidence, and performance.
