Position Summary
The Commissary Operations Specialist (Boiler Engineer) is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the commissary facility while ensuring the safe and efficient performance of all mechanical and boiler systems.
This role combines hands-on technical maintenance with operational coordination and administrative support, helping to maintain production uptime, accurate inventory, and smooth logistics. The ideal candidate is both mechanically skilled and highly organized, with the ability to work across warehouse, production, and office environments.
Key Responsibilities
Boiler & Equipment Operations
- Operate, monitor, and maintain boilers, water heaters, and steam systems
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on:
- HVAC and refrigeration systems
- Air compressors, pumps, motors, and conveyors
- Packaging, cooking, and production equipment
- Conduct calibrations, water treatment, lubrication, and system checks
- Monitor system performance and adjust equipment to maintain production standards
- Maintain logs of readings, maintenance activities, and repairs
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and respond to emergencies or system failures
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements
Maintenance & Facility Support
- Maintain plumbing, water systems, filters, and related infrastructure
- Support electrical systems and equipment (motors, controls, lighting, etc.)
- Assist with building systems including automation and environmental controls
- Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and maintenance supplies
- Support life-safety systems and routine inspections
Operations & Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate operational records, logs, and documentation (ERP systems such as Odoo)
- Assist with invoice processing, expense tracking, and reporting
- Prepare inventory, production, and operational reports
- Maintain organized filing systems (digital and physical)
- Receive visitors, mail, and deliveries
Inventory, Logistics & Warehouse Coordination
- Receive, scan, and document incoming materials and deliveries
- Coordinate shipping and distribution of finished goods
- Track and maintain accurate inventory levels
- Order and manage consumables (PPE, chemicals, packaging, parts)
- Coordinate vendor pickups, waste removal, and scheduled shipments
- Support inventory control and internal product movement
Warehouse & Production Support
- Operate forklift and material handling equipment safely
- Assist with staging, storage, and shipping of finished goods
- Maintain clean, organized receiving and storage areas
- Support overall warehouse efficiency and workflow
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience in maintenance, warehouse, manufacturing, or food production environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of boiler systems and mechanical equipment
- Experience with facility systems (HVAC, steam, compressed air, plumbing, electrical systems up to 480V preferred)
- Experience with inventory or ERP systems (Odoo preferred)
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move materials up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work in both office and warehouse environments
- Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods
- Ability to work in refrigerated and freezer environments as needed

Compensation for roles at Suna Solutions varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific client, office or remote location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, Suna Solutions provides a reasonable pay scale to include the hourly or salary range that Suna Solutions reasonably expects to pay for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York City or Washington.
