Senior Account Coordinator - Connecticut

ROLE OVERVIEW
The Senior Account Coordinator is a field-based clinical role responsible for managing complex accounts and coordinating full care pathway support—from patient identification and insurance verification through product fitting, education, and outcomes follow-up. This role operates with a high degree of autonomy, serves as a clinical resource for junior staff, and drives consistent provider and patient experience across the territory.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient & Provider Support
- Manage complex, high-volume accounts across patient evaluation, product fitting, and longitudinal follow-up.
- Deliver hands-on clinical support in wound care, lymphedema, compression, vascular, or rehabilitation settings.
- Lead patient and caregiver education on product use, compliance, and care expectations.
- Escalate complex clinical cases to leadership with clear documentation and recommended next steps.
Order Management & Documentation
- Own end-to-end order coordination—ensuring accurate documentation, payer compliance, and timely patient access.
- Independently manage prior authorizations, insurance appeals, and DME/HME coverage requirements.
- Maintain audit-ready CRM records of patient status, field activity, and case progression.
Account Development & Workflow Integration
- Build trusted relationships with key provider stakeholders to position the organization as a preferred clinical partner.
- Implement repeatable clinical protocols across partner sites to improve product utilization and consistency.
- Communicate field insights to internal leadership to support continuous improvement in patient experience and territory performance.
- Travel 50–75% across assigned region. Comfortable with regional travel.
Team Leadership (Player and coach)
- Work on site with multiple accounts and cat a s a mentor and coach for the team.
- Mentor junior Clinical Field Specialists through onboarding, skill development, and daily field guidance.
- Serve as the escalation resource for complex clinical, payer, and provider relationship issues.
- Contribute to field training materials, SOPs, and best practice documentation
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4–6 years of clinical or patient-facing healthcare experience OR 2 years in a field-based MedTech or DME role.
- Clinical credential required: Medical Assistant, PTA, CNA, or comparable allied health background.
- Proven ability to independently manage complex, multi-site patient caseloads with measurable outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of prior authorization, payer appeals, and DME/HME coverage and billing workflows.
- Highly organized and self-directed with strong written and verbal communication across clinical and patient audiences.
- Comfortable with regional travel including overnight stays and drives of 5 hours; 50–75% travel expected.
PREFERRED
- Specialty experience in compression therapy, lymphedema, wound care, vascular rehab, or orthotics/prosthetics.
- Experience mentoring or informally leading junior field staff.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms and clinical documentation systems; EMR familiarity a plus.
- Bilingual in Spanish strongly preferred; may be required in select territories.
- Background in territory management, account planning, or field-based clinical business development.
