Position Summary
Sun Scientific is seeking a hands-on Training & Commercial Enablement Manager to build and lead our commercial training function.
This standalone, high-impact role owns the strategy, design, and execution of all onboarding, sales training, field coaching, LMS management, and commercial education. The ideal candidate brings a strong Medical Device DME sales background, facilitation expertise, and the ability to translate complex clinical and reimbursement topics into practical field tools — and is equally effective leading live training, building eLearning content, and conducting field ride-along.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Training Strategy
- Build and lead Sun Scientific's commercial training function — virtual, onboarding, advanced, and field programs
- Develop and execute the commercial learning roadmap aligned to business objectives; own design, delivery, and measurement of all initiatives
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Operations, Reimbursement, Marketing, and Leadership to align training to priorities
- Serve as Disease State SME; lead professional selling skills programs (e.g., SPIN Selling)
New Hire Onboarding & Field Readiness
- Design and facilitate structured onboarding for Account Originators, Account Coordinators, Area Managers, 1099 Sales Reps, and commercial support staff
- Build 30/60/90-day onboarding and certification pathways; ensure proficiency in product portfolio, compression therapy, lymphedema/CVI, IPC, DME reimbursement, payer basics, and sales process
Sales Training & Skill Development
- Develop and facilitate training in: prospecting, clinical selling, product positioning, objection handling, reimbursement conversations, territory planning, and account growth
- Facilitate role plays, simulations, workshops, and certifications; deliver high-impact sessions at National Sales Meetings
- Create practical field tools: conversation guides, call models, objection handling resources, pre-call templates, and sales playbooks
Field Coaching & Performance Reinforcement
- Conduct ride-along and field observations to reinforce selling behaviors; coach new and tenured reps with structured feedback
- Partner with field leadership to support onboarding adoption and build reinforcement strategies that improve retention
LMS Ownership & eLearning
- Administer Sun Scientific's LMS (Thinkific or future platform); own all eLearning modules, certifications, assessments, and learning pathways
- Build blended learning: instructor-led, video, virtual workshops, and microlearning; track completion, engagement, and performance
Curriculum Design & Subject Matter Expertise
- Design and maintain curriculum, facilitator guides, sales playbooks, product/reimbursement education, SOP-based learning, and quick-reference tools
- Develop deep expertise in: compression therapy, lymphedema, CVI, IPC, DME reimbursement, Medicare/Medicaid/commercial payers, HCPCS coding, and product portfolio
- Translate clinical and reimbursement complexity into simple, actionable field education; keep content current with product and market changes
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree; 3 years in medical device, DME, pharmaceutical, vascular, wound care, lymphedema, or related healthcare sales, marketing, or training
- Demonstrated experience in sales training, onboarding, field coaching, commercial enablement, or L&D with proven commercial success and field credibility
- Experienced facilitating in-person and virtual training; skilled in curriculum development and training material creation
- Proficient with Learning Management Systems (Thinkific preferred); exceptional communication, facilitation, and coaching skills
- Willingness to travel ~50%, including overnight travel
Preferred
- Experience in compression therapy, lymphedema, vascular, DME, or wound care; familiarity with reimbursement and payer processes
- Background in startup or high-growth healthcare environments; experience building or contributing to a training program from inception
- Knowledge of adult learning principles and sales enablement best practices
