Vehicle Upfitting Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking motivated, hands-on Vehicle Upfitting Technicians to join our growing production team. This role is responsible for installing, wiring, assembling, troubleshooting, and completing custom vehicle upfits while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and craftsmanship.

Compensation
Production-Based Flat Rate
- $25.00–$35.00 per hour, based on experience, technical ability, and level of responsibility.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform custom vehicle upfitting and equipment installation.
- Install electrical components, wiring harnesses, lighting, accessories, and mechanical equipment.
- Read and follow work instructions, installation drawings, and production specifications.
- Troubleshoot wiring, electrical systems, and installation issues.
- Assemble and install truck bodies and vehicle components.
- Complete builds from start to finish while maintaining quality standards.
- Inspect completed work to ensure accuracy, functionality, and customer specifications are met.
- Operate forklifts and material handling equipment as needed.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and production efficiency.
- Collaborate with team members while meeting production schedules and deadlines.
- Assist with training and mentoring less experienced technicians as skills and experience increase.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in vehicle upfitting, automotive, truck equipment, fleet maintenance, manufacturing, fabrication, or a related mechanical field preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring and vehicle electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Welding experience is a plus but not required.
- Forklift experience is preferred.
- Must provide your own basic hand tools.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
