Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join a close-knit finance team within a manufacturing environment. This role is well suited for an accountant who enjoys being close to day-to-day operations and partnering directly with production leaders, supervisors, and corporate finance. The position offers strong exposure to core accounting functions, operational finance, and manufacturing cost drivers—making it an excellent foundation for long-term career growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly financial statements and support the month-end close process
- Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Perform bank reconciliations and monitor daily cash activity
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Support fixed asset accounting, including capital expenditure tracking and depreciation schedules
- Assist with inventory accounting activities, including cycle counts, variance analysis, and reconciliation of raw materials and finished goods
- Prepare budget-to-actual comparisons and variance analyses for leadership review
- Support annual audit activities and coordinate with external auditors
- Maintain and enhance internal controls and standard accounting procedures
- Assist with state and local filings (e.g., sales and use tax, business registrations) as needed
- Partner with production and operational leaders to understand cost drivers and financial impacts
- Provide ad hoc financial reporting and support for corporate finance initiatives
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (4-year degree required)
- Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing, public accounting, or a related industry
- Solid understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks
- Experience working with ERP or accounting systems; ability to quickly learn manufacturing systems
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and advanced formulas
