What are the responsibilities and job description for the Senior Estimator position at Storm Search?
The Senior Estimator leads the full lifecycle of project estimating, including developing detailed estimates and Guaranteed Maximum Prices (GMPs), coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring all bids and budgets are complete, accurate, and aligned with client expectations.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead preparation of complete estimates and GMP packages, ensuring pricing accuracy, scope clarity, and subcontractor coverage.
- Review design documents for completeness, identify risks or scope gaps, and coordinate RFIs and clarifications.
- Conduct preconstruction site visits to evaluate existing conditions and confirm scope.
- Manage estimating set-up: schedule creation, responsibility matrix, bid packages, and team coordination.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, identify overlaps or gaps, and collaborate with field operations for constructability and General Conditions input.
- Prepare all proposal documents, including clarifications, assumptions, exclusions, and commercial terms.
- Lead internal estimate review meetings and participate in client/architect/engineer review sessions.
- Incorporate feedback into revised estimates and final GMP submissions.
- Support operational handoff for awarded projects.
- May mentor/guide junior estimators (no direct reports).
Experience & Technical Requirements
- 10 years in the construction industry, with 5 years dedicated to estimating.
- Strong understanding of construction means, methods, materials, and market pricing.
- Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, and cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in HCSS HeavyBid preferred; Timberline, Accubid, or similar acceptable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Salary : $120,000 - $170,000
