Position Summary:

This position involves day-to-day responsibilities that require independent judgment and discretion, contributing to the department’s ongoing success.

Essential Functions & Basic Duties:

  • Responsible for maintaining, servicing and marketing a book of business consisting of middle market accounts; update existing accounts.
  • Develop cross sale strategies to enhance the profitability of the Personal Lines clientele.
  • Demonstrate leadership in terms of insurance coverage, expectations and carrier marketing.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with insureds and carriers, investigating and resolving any issues that arise.
  • Sustain client retention through comprehensive annual reviews, maintaining a high percentage retention.
  • Manage client base to achieve client retention and service quality goals, achieve the financial goals for the department.
  • Quote all lines of business from carrier websites.
  • Maintain integrity of system activities and client detail.
  • Adherence, compliance and full utilization of all technology tools (i.e. EPIC, Outlook, etc).
  • Work collaboratively with producers, account executives, clients and the SterlingRisk Personal Lines team to service existing and new accounts; specifically with producers on their new/renewal opportunities.
  • Report all new business, cancellations and current prospects to Personal Lines Manager on a monthly basis.
  • Collaborate with and manage the day-to-day servicing needs of the Account Executive.
  • Issuance of binder, ID card, certificates, evidence of property and cancellation requests.
  • Help prepare and coordinate market presentation for Personal Lines clients.
  • Manage follow up to ensure timely receipt of quotations and policies in accordance with renewal/expiration list procedure.
  • Determine appropriate billing processes in accordance with departmental guidelines and make decisions su0pporting best practices after considering such guidelines.
  • Monitor renewal dashboard for Account Executive.
  • Proper coding into EPIC of non-renewals, cancellations, re-writes, etc.
  • Process insured, producer and carrier requests.
  • Correspond with clients and carriers; evaluate courses of action, as needs; make appropriate decisions in accordance with best practices of SterlingRisk.
  • Order updated renewal information.
  • Respond directly to or refer insured and underwriter’s questions.
  • Manage direct bill procedures.
  • Process credit card and checking account payments, as well as EFT payments for clients.
  • Ensure all renewal information in EPIC correctly reflects renewal issued by carriers.
  • Process endorsements, including endorsement checking, and accurately download into EPIC.
  • Run MVR and CLUE reports, completing applications and obtaining requirements from the carrier to obtain a quote.
  • Prepare all required client signatures via electronic signature.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time while paying strict attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, Word and Docu-sign
  • Experience with EPIC or Applied preferred
  • Personal Lines related product knowledge
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work directly and efficiently with clients
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills

Education and Work Experience:

  • Minimum two-year college degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years insurance experience in Personal Lines
  • Property and Casualty Broker’s License

Salary:

The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is $70,000 – $75,000 annually, plus benefits, and can vary based on location.

The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty and training. The hiring range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
