End Date: March 15, 2026 (13 weeks)
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift: Day Shift (6:45 AM – 7:00 PM)
Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed hours
About the Role
We’re seeking experienced Stepdown/Cardiac PCU Registered Nurses to join our acute care team in Lufkin, TX. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands‑on experience with cardiac patients while enjoying the charm of East Texas.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Cardiac Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit
- Manage cardiac drips and titration protocols
- Support cath lab recovery and observation unit patients
- Perform sheath pulling, site monitoring, and general med/surg care
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, quality outcomes
- Document accurately using Allscripts – Paragon charting system
- Participate in orientation (12 hours) and ongoing unit training
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience (Stepdown/PCU preferred)
- Active RN license (compact or Texas)
- Certifications: ACLS & BLS required
- BSN not required, but strongly valued
- Strong knowledge of cardiac monitoring, titration, and post‑cath recovery
Education
- Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program (ADN or BSN)
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiac drip titration expertise
- Cath lab recovery and sheath management
- Acute care and med/surg patient management
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
