This position is located in the Division of Executive Budget and Finance (DEBF), State Controller’s Office and is headquartered at the DOA Office Building at 101 E. Wilson Street, Madison, WI 53703.
Based on current DEBF policy and the business needs within the unit, this position would work from their headquarter location at least two days per week with the possibility of working from home the remaining days.

Position Summary
This position works under the supervision of the Accounting Services Supervisor in the State Controller’s Office. This position performs accounting functions to ensure accurate and timely processing, payment, and recording of transactions, receipts, and state disbursements. The position serves as a subject matter expert for expense reporting, leads reconciliation efforts to ensure transactions are properly reflected in the general ledger, provides technical guidance to agencies, and prepares complex financial statements in preparation of the Annual Fiscal Report (AFR). The role also leads the monitoring and generation of IRS Forms 1099 and 1098-F to ensure compliance with federal reporting requirements.

Salary Information
The senior level (07-03) will have a salary between $76,960 and $89,440 and the advanced level (07-02) will have a salary between $88,400 and $101,920. In addition, up to $1.00 per hour CPA add-on may be available depending on qualifications. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be set in accordance with the Wisconsin State Compensation Plan.

- Completed a four-year or advanced degree with a major in Accounting from an accredited college/university; or commensurate work or professional experience.
- Experience performing professional accounting duties or budgetary duties such as processing transactions and performing reconciliations.
- Experience analyzing and resolving accounting or budget discrepancies.
- Experience utilizing a complex accounting/financial management system such as PeopleSoft or similar.
- Financial reporting experience related to financial statement compilation, schedules, or note disclosures.
