This Financial Specialist-Senior LTE position is located in the Department of Administration, Division of Enterprise Operations, headquartered in Madison, WI.

Position Summary

This Financial Specialist position is primarily responsible for performing the preaudit functions and preparation of payment vouchers and audit of P-cards for the Department of Administration (DOA) and its attached agencies. Other duties include pre-audit of travel reimbursement reports and other General Accounting duties as assigned.

Salary Information

Starting pay for the Financial Specialist – Senior (02-13) is $26.08 hourly. Pay for current state employees will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.

This position is Limited Term Employment (LTE) and is limited to 1,039 hours in 26 consecutive pay periods (1 year).

Wisconsin residency is required for Limited Term Employment positions.

Limited Term Employment (LTE) positions are not civil service classified positions, do not give any rights to permanent civil service classified positions and do not lead to permanent status.

Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. This topic and any remote work flexibility that may be available will be discussed in more detail in the interview process.

Qualifications

Qualified applicants will have training, education, or experience related to:

  • Reviewing, auditing, or processing financial transactions
  • Utilizing financial database applications (e.g. Excel, STAR/PeopleSoft, or similar)
