Key responsibilities and day to day responsibilities of this position:
- Monitors activities and resources at park, waterways, trails, etc., and park areas of responsibility.
- Hosts visitors, coordinates group visitor activities and provides visitor services.
- Develops and presents marketing, educational and interpretive materials.
- Assists in search and rescue activities.
- Writes, reviews, and/or negotiates grants, contracts and or agreements.
- Operates and supervises the historical Fielding Garr Ranch.
- Supervises volunteers, interns, students, and seasonal staff which includes hiring, terminating, training, scheduling, delegating, monitoring and reviewing work.
- Maintains and repairs park facilities and grounds; maintains and operates tools and equipment.
- High School Diploma.
- Experience coordinating events, programs, conferences, and volunteers or staff.
- Organized and takes initiative; Ability to drive locally; Supervision of staff (full or part-time/seasonal) or volunteers.
- Bachelor's degree or above.
- At least 1 year of experience coordinating events, programs, conferences, and volunteers or staff.
- At least 1 year of experience supervising full or part-time/seasonal staff AND volunteers.
- Master Naturalist Certifications
- First Aid/CPR Certified
- 2 years of interpretative experience
- Work requires some physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking over rough terrain or rocky surfaces; recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, reaching or similar activities.
- Risks found in potentially dangerous or unusual environmental situations, e.g. working in extreme outdoor weather conditions, etc
- Must be willing to work weekends and Holidays
