Job Description:
Join our team to help improve lives and create a safer Utah. The Caseworker II position is an entry level caseworker position. College level education and experience working with substance use disorders are not required but will be emphasized in hiring. CW IIs on our team provide evidence based, individualized services to individuals who are supervised by the Utah Department of Corrections.
This is a full time position with state employee benefits. The wage is $24.95 hourly.
CW IIs teach psycho-educational classes, utilize data from substance use assessments, and provide case management services to our clients. You will be an important part of a multidisciplinary team working to improve the lives of our clients, reduce their criminogenic risk factors, and increase their abilities to remain drug free. This position is in a community treatment resource center.

- Provides psycho-educational classes.
- Coordinates efforts to find appropriate community resources and services
- Provides case management services directly with clients
- Engages in quality written and verbal communication with clients, the treatment team, community partners, and security personnel
- Maintains accurate documentation of all services provided
- Experience providing services to clients with substance use disorders
- Experience providing services to justice involved individuals
- Effective teaching skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of substance use assessments
- Knowledge of criminogenic risk factors and assessments
- Have a basic understanding of workign with criminal justice involved women.
Caseworker II
- Salary Range: $20.89 - $31.41
- Safety and risk issues inherent while working with justice involved individuals on probation or parole are presumed, e.g. being subject to stressful situations or possible physical attack.
- Work requires low physical exertion, requiring the ability to stand, walk over rough surfaces, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 50 lbs.).
- At this level, the best qualified individuals will have obtained certification as a Certified Substance Use Disorder Counselor or licensure as a Social Service Worker.
- NOTE: Department of Human Resource Management rules regarding promotions and transfers apply to current state employees.
