Key Responsibilities

Financial Analyst III plays a key role in ensuring high-quality financial management and reporting for the agency. This position is responsible for preparing forecasts, conducting financial reconciliations, reviewing and approving transactions, and

supporting financial operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and capable of handling complex financial data. This role also supports continuous improvement efforts to strengthen financial processes across the agency.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute monthly financial forecasts and recurring financial reports for leadership and regional teams.
• Conduct monthly and quarterly financial reconciliation and ensure accuracy across funds, transactions, and payroll adjustments.
• Review, submit and approve financial transactions while ensuring compliance with agency coding policies and supporting internal controls.
• Manage shared expense allocations, support year-end financial processes, and maintain accurate financial coding across teams.
• Oversee routine operational needs such as report distribution, software license tracking, and backup approval duties.
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting.
• Perform other related financial or administrative duties as assigned to support agency needs.
  
  

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Exceptional problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues proactively and develop effective solutions.
• Expertise in financial systems and spreadsheet applications, particularly Excel and Google Sheets, to manage and analyze data efficiently.
• Strong analytical capabilities combined with exceptional organizational skills to handle complex workflows and maintain accurate records.
• Has the ability to communicate professionally in both written and verbal forms
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Two or more years of professional financial analysis experience
• Demonstrated experience in state or local government financial management, including familiarity with public-sector processes and regulations.
• Solid understanding of governmental budget standards and practices
• Preference may be given to those with a bachelor's degree or higher in a business or financial related field, years of relevant work and senior management experience, or for a current CPA license.
