Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations of the patient access department, including registration, scheduling, and billing processes
- Lead and motivate staff to deliver outstanding customer service while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations
- Oversee fiscal management activities such as budgeting, financial reporting, and resource allocation to optimize department efficiency
- Ensure accurate management of medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to patient access metrics and implement process improvements
- Manage human resources functions including hiring, training, performance evaluations, and conflict resolution within the team
Requirements
- High school diploma (bachelor’s preferred)
- 3 years experience; 2 in healthcare leadership
- Call center or front desk experience preferred
- Proven supervisory experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment with clinic or hospital experience
- Strong knowledge of medical administrative support functions such as insurance verification, billing procedures, and medical terminology
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems
- Demonstrated fiscal management skills encompassing budgeting, financial management, and resource planning
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively and foster a positive work environment
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance standards and medical records management protocols
- Experience with office management tools and human resources practices within healthcare settings
