Now, we’re looking for a Peer Recovery Specialist to join our mission-driven team!
What You’ll Do:
As a Peer Recovery Specialist, you’ll use your lived experience in recovery to connect, support, and walk alongside others on their own journeys toward healing. You’ll bring hope to those who need it most—through empathy, shared understanding, and encouragement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspire hope and support individuals throughout all stages of recovery: from engagement to sustained recovery.
- Help individuals explore goals, interests, strengths, and challenges.
- Co-create personalized Recovery Action Plans.
- Model what living in recovery looks like—sharing your journey, tools, and resilience.
- Empower individuals to advocate for themselves and speak openly about mental health and substance use.
- Use evidence-based tools and your lived experience to promote wellness.
- Guide individuals in finding natural supports and community resources.
- Coach coping techniques and strategies for managing everyday recovery challenges.
- Collaborate with our care team to provide holistic, person-centered care.
- Document your services accurately and in a timely manner.
- Embody our values of Community, Healing, Recovery, Hope, and Support every day.
What You Bring to the Role:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of 2 years in personal recovery from a mental health or substance use condition
- Eligible for Florida State Peer Certification: CRSS or CRPS
- Clear background (Local/Level II), MVR, and Drug-Free Workplace screenings
