Location: Scott, LA

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred.
- 3-5 years of payroll and accounting experience.
- Experience processing full-cycle payroll.
- Knowledge of payroll taxes, benefits administration, reconciliations, and general ledger accounting.
- Experience with payroll and accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Experience with multi-state payroll environments preferred.
- CPP or FPC certification preferred.
- Experience with QuickBooks and ADP preferred.
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for all employees.
- Process payroll adjustments, off-cycle payrolls, and manual checks.
- Review employee time, attendance, overtime, commissions, bonuses, and deductions.
- Prepare payroll journal entries and maintain accurate accounting records.
- Reconcile payroll accounts, general ledger accounts, payroll taxes, and benefits deductions.
- Coordinate payroll tax filings, W-2 processing, and compliance reporting.
- Reconcile health insurance and employee benefit invoices.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
- Support audits and provide payroll documentation as needed.
- Identify process improvements and maintain payroll procedures and internal controls.
- Respond to payroll-related employee inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or office administration experience is preferred.
- Experience using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or similar business systems is beneficial.
- Knowledge of general accounting principles, financial recordkeeping, or reconciliation procedures is considered an asset.
- Individuals who demonstrate professionalism, dependability, accuracy, and strong organizational skills are well positioned for success as a Payroll Accountant.
Physical Capabilities
- Ability to remain seated and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Ability to review financial documents and enter data accurately.
- Ability to occasionally lift office materials weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform normal office duties while maintaining attention to detail throughout the workday.
