What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with attorneys and clients to gather documentation and information efficiently.
- Conduct legal research using Lexis, Pacer, and other resources to support case development.
- Assist in applying legal doctrines and cite-checking to ensure accuracy in all documentation.
- Organize and manage litigation matters, timelines, and tasks to ensure seamless case flow.
- Prepare pleadings, discovery responses, motions, notices, and administrative filings at federal and state levels.
- Organize and analyze discovery documents, coordinate document production, and respond to discovery requests.
- Support trial, arbitration, and deposition preparations, including drafting exhibits and related materials.
- Maintain communication with courts, opposing counsel, vendors, and process servers.
- Manage calendars, deadlines, and reminders to keep cases on track.
- Develop an understanding of each practice group's services to contribute valuable insights.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Paralegal in litigation or related legal areas.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Proficiency with Adobe and Docusign.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Active Notary Public.
- Experience with eDiscovery and document management systems such as iManage.
- Familiarity with billing and timekeeping software like Aderant.
- Experience with CaseMap, TrialMap, or Trial Director.
- Federal court experience.
- Knowledge supporting industries such as Boilermakers, Ironworkers, or Steelworkers.
- Background in ERISA, withdrawal liability, fiduciary claims, or employment law.
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant legal education preferred.
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex litigation and federal court proceedings.
- Occasional travel to worksites beyond the office setting.
- Ability to perform sedentary work with occasional physical activity, including manual dexterity.
- Working in a temperature-controlled office environment, utilizing standard office equipment.
