Job Title: Property Manager – Multifamily Housing Specialist

Required Skills

• 3-5 years of hands-on property management experience, especially in affordable housing settings
• Strong knowledge of landlord-tenant laws, fair housing regulations, and bookkeeping procedures
• Experience with income tiers, annual recertifications, and programs such as PHFA, HUD, Section 8, and tax credits
• Proficiency in text-based communication tools (Teams, email, SMS) and computer systems (MS Office, property management software like Yardi)
• Ability to plan, coordinate, and handle multiple tasks independently with attention to detail
• Excellent customer service, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills
• Knowledge of property inspections, compliance auditing, and tenant recertification processes
• Ability to work effectively as the main contact point for residents and vendors
  
  

Nice To Have Skills

• Experience managing additional properties or larger portfolios
• Certification in low-income housing tax credit compliance (within 12 months)
• Familiarity with project-based vouchers and Section 8 programs
• Bilingual communication skills are a plus
  
  

Preferred Education And Experience

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Prior experience managing low-income or affordable housing properties, with a proven track record of compliance and tenant relations
  
  

Other Requirements

• Reliable transportation for onsite visits and inspections
• Ability to work on-site at the property
• Flexibility to work occasional Saturdays (flex time/paid overtime) as needed
• Will supervise maintenance staff and coordinate with outside vendors
• Maintain ongoing compliance with HUD, PHFA, and local building standards; complete required training annually
