Community Engagement Officer
Job Summary:
The Community Engagement Officers are key members of the St. Vincent de Paul team working to support organizational vision of carrying out “Community Engagement at Scale”.
The successful candidate enjoys meeting and working with volunteers, partners, and donors to achieve their philanthropic/service goals. This includes living out and modeling SVdP’s “Culture of Philanthropy” through relationship building, engagement, recruitment, and stewardship.
Officers may be responsible for leading and developing specific program areas, which will include bringing in partners and teammates to accomplish goals. Own the vision, and help other teammates connect with your work through sharing information, training, and incorporating others’ ideas.
Specific Duties:
- Participate in and serve as a model for SVdP’s Culture of Philanthropy
- Develop and manage various individual, group, and organizational donor and volunteer relationships to achieve individual, department and organizational goals.
- Model gold star volunteer engagement, ensuring volunteers feel welcomed and appreciated and are invited to participate with SVdP in additional ways (i.e., drives, financial donations, etc.).
- Recruit volunteers, understand their interests, connect them to opportunities at SVdP aligned with their interests
- Manage and effectively steward relationships with volunteers, donors and corporate partners in partnership with members of the Development team.
- Regularly, professionally, graciously communicate with volunteers and volunteer prospects (i.e., writing, calling, and meeting with)
- Collaborate with internal and external partners to successfully steward and express gratitude to supporters
- Represent the organization in meetings with community partners
- Track and record data and communications in Salesforce
- Execute and support community events
- Responsible for program development in specialty areas and managing initiatives in collaboration with team members. Specific areas of responsibility may shift over time.
- Performs any other duties assigned

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent related experience
Possible Related Fields include but are not limited to: Nonprofit Management, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Business Administration, Community or Human Services, Social Work
Physical Requirements:
- Able to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach and lift up to 20 pounds are required for this position
