Key Responsibilities
Leadership
- Foster and embrace a people-focused, high-performance culture that is aligned with the company's purpose and vision.
- Mentor and coach department managers and employees on their career path options and help foster the growth of their teams.
- Monitor area financial performance, providing support to team members who are not meeting budget and/or expectation. Determines corrective action plan where appropriate.
- Ability to uphold the highest level of confidentiality and understanding how/when to apply discretion.
- Monitor Area Project Performance and Metrics, providing guidance and support where appropriate.
- Monitor quality of Area's work, providing guidance and support where appropriate.
- Responsible for high levels of engagement within the group managed. Responsible for making employment decisions guided by company values that comply with federal, state, and local laws. Works collaboratively with the Human Resources team to mitigate legal, regulatory, and turnover risks within the organization.
- Directly responsible and accountable for financial KPIs in the Area they lead. Understand and monitor assigned financial metrics for successful team performance. Holds teams accountable for achieving targets.
- Ensure Department leaders within region are providing guidance to their teams on processes and procedures and holding them accountable to company and personal goals. Make recommendations on processes and procedures that can improve efficiency and quality.
- Escalate potential risks to leadership and/or HR where appropriate. Assist the leadership team with conducting research and sharing insights/expertise where appropriate on issues or challenges.
- Provide guidance on professional development, hiring, corrective action, promotional opportunities, compensation, performance evaluation, work hours and schedule, workplace policies, termination, etc. Share insights and/or recommendations on employee compensation adjustments and bonuses.
- Lead department managers with implementing corporate projects and initiatives.
- Responsible for team engagement and retention in the Area. Assist with handling conflict and/or strategies for elevating performance.
- Uphold the company's health, safety, quality and efficiency standards within the region, offering suggestions to elevate performance.
- Assist with BD and Marketing activities where appropriate.
- Contribute to the formation of business plans for their region. Accountable for the implementation of action items from company's business plans, where appropriate.
- Embrace the organization's vision and help cultivate the desired company culture.
- 10 years of experience in the AEC industry, including leadership roles within a scaled organization (PE-backed experience preferred)
- Technical background in one or more relevant practice areas (environmental, water, infrastructure, etc.)
- Demonstrated success in operational leadership and scaling business performance
- Proven ability to operationalize strategy and drive execution through teams
- Strong business acumen, including financial and KPI management
- Established client relationships in one or more strategic market sectors
- Exceptional relationship builder with strong communication and leadership presence
- Positive, resilient mindset with the ability to lead through change
