Overview:
Seeking an experienced Transmission Line or Substation Planner (10 years in maintenance or construction) to plan, sequence, and schedule complex construction and maintenance work. This role requires the ability to work independently, coordinate outages, and support project teams across Transmission, Distribution, and Generation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and schedule all line/substation construction and maintenance activities
- Develop outage sequences and temporary facility plans
- Coordinate with internal leadership and resolve technical issues
- Support project management and create detailed construction plans
- Ensure safe work practices and high-quality execution
- Review isolation procedures and sequencing
- Lead teams to ensure accurate documentation and timely submission
Required Expertise:
- Transmission line structures, switches, conductors, and related facilities
- Substation equipment: transformers, breakers, regulators, switches, instrument transformers, above/below-grade facilities
- Installation, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of line/substation assets
- Clearance boundary requirements, risk mitigation, and NERC compliance
- Strong communication (including 3-way communication), planning, and leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining safe, error-free performance
- Basic computer proficiency
