Senior BIM Engineer - Electrical Construction (VDC Focus)

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior BIM Engineer to join a leading electrical contractor delivering complex, large-scale construction projects across the U.S.

This is a technical leadership role at the forefront of BIM/VDC delivery, focused on driving coordination, improving constructability, and integrating digital models directly with field execution.

🔧 About the Role

You will lead advanced electrical BIM modelling and coordination, working across distribution systems, lighting, and controls on major projects. A key part of your role will be ensuring fully coordinated, clash-free, and buildable designs using industry-leading tools such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.

You will also play a critical role in bridging the gap between design and construction—supporting prefabrication strategies, improving installation efficiency, and identifying constructability issues early in the project lifecycle.

📌 Key Responsibilities

• Lead BIM/VDC modelling and multi-trade coordination on large electrical projects
• Develop and manage detailed electrical models (power distribution, lighting, controls)
• Drive clash detection and resolution using Navisworks
• Support field teams with constructability input and installation sequencing
• Integrate BIM models with prefabrication and project execution strategies
• Mentor and develop junior BIM team members
• Ensure compliance with modelling standards and best practices
• Collaborate with Project Managers, Estimators, Engineers, and field teams
• Participate in client coordination meetings and design reviews
• Support value engineering and project optimisation initiatives

🎯 Requirements

• 5 years’ experience in BIM/VDC or electrical construction environments
• Strong proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks
• Solid understanding of NEC codes and field installation methods
• Proven experience leading coordination efforts and mentoring teams
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction, or equivalent experience
