Overview
The City of High Point is seeking a Communications & Marketing Manager to lead a 4–5 person team delivering strategic communications, marketing campaigns, and public engagement initiatives across the organization.
This is a hands-on leadership role—ideal for someone who can manage people, oversee workflow/intake of marketing requests, and step in on writing, messaging, and campaign execution when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a communications/marketing team (writers, video, graphics)
- Own marketing request intake workflow management across departments
- Drive citywide communications strategies, campaigns, and initiatives
- Support City Manager, City Council, and executive communications
- Ensure delivery of high-visibility, deadline-driven projects
- Serve as liaison with media, community stakeholders, and partners
What We’re Looking For
- 5 years in communications, marketing, or public affairs
- 3 years managing teams
- Experience handling multiple stakeholders high-volume project intake
- Strong writing/editing executive communication skills
- Experience with project/work management tools (Asana, Monday, Wrike, etc.)
Nice to Have
- Public sector / government / university / nonprofit experience
- Experience supporting executive leadership or governing bodies
- Media/public-facing communication experience

Salary : $80,000 - $110,000
