This leadership role is ideal for someone with strong residential construction purchasing experience, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven ability to drive operational efficiency, manage trade partner relationships, and support high-quality homebuilding initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
Overview
The Director of Purchasing will oversee purchasing strategy, trade partner relationships, budgeting, operational support, and team leadership to ensure homes are delivered on schedule, within budget, and at the highest quality standards. This individual will collaborate closely with Regional and Division leadership teams while managing a high-performing purchasing and design center team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and develop the Division Purchasing Team and Design Center staff
• Drive purchasing strategy, bidding, budgeting, and hard cost management
• Negotiate and manage relationships with trade partners and suppliers
• Support new community start-ups and operational initiatives
• Monitor cost savings opportunities, forecasting, and financial reporting
• Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Regional Purchasing, and Division leadership teams
• Ensure quality standards, scopes of work, and product offerings align with company goals
