Southeast Healthcare is seeking an experienced and strategic Controller to lead the financial operations of our Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving patients across 8 counties in Ohio. The Controller plays a key leadership role in ensuring the financial health, integrity, and sustainability of the organization. This position oversees day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, budgeting support, internal controls, audit preparation, and grant/healthcare-related financial management.

Responsibilities:
The Controller will provide leadership and oversight for the organization’s accounting and financial reporting functions, including:
- Oversee all daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash management
- Prepare and review accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting reports
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with accounting standards, federal and state regulations, and organizational policies
- Lead year-end audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors
- Support budget development, forecasting, and financial analysis for leadership decision-making
- Monitor financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
- Oversee Cost Center Financial Tracking and reporting
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting related to FQHC operations, funding streams, and regulatory requirements
- Assist in development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and process improvements
- Supervise and mentor finance/accounting staff
- Collaborate with executive leadership to support strategic and fiscal goals
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5 years of accounting or financial management experience
- 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit processes
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to work across departments
Preferred Qualifications:
- CPA strongly preferred
- Experience in healthcare, nonprofit, public health, HRSA or FQHC environments
- Knowledge of federal grants, cost reporting, and Medicaid/Medicare reimbursement
- Experience with multi-site or multi-program financial operations
- Familiarity with healthcare financial systems and ERP/accounting software
- Prior experience with NextGen and Paycom
