The Referral Specialist coordinates and manages patient referrals as ordered by Southeast Primary Care providers. This role ensures accurate processing of referrals, verifies patient demographic and financial information, and supports overall clinic operations to enhance patient care and workflow efficiency.
Responsibilities:

Coordinate, initiate, and track patient referrals to outside providers, ensuring timely follow-up

Verify and update patient demographic, insurance, and financial information for accurate processing

Process urgent prior authorizations for imaging and diagnostic services

Manage front desk operations, including patient check-in, registration, and appointment scheduling

Handle incoming calls, faxes, and electronic communications, ensuring prompt and accurate responses

Support clinic workflow by assisting with patient flow, data entry, reporting, and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent computer skills.
- Demonstrated customer service experience and skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure, where constant interruptions are the norm.
- Knowledge of general office procedures.
