Role Overview
The Senior Technical Writer will guide a team of writers in producing clear, accurate, and structured documentation. This position focuses on establishing standards, improving processes, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure documentation aligns with technical, regulatory, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the creation of comprehensive technical documentation for complex systems and products
- Collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to gather, validate, and refine technical content
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation
- Establish and maintain documentation standards, style guides, and best practices
- Review and edit content to ensure consistency, accuracy, and clarity
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements
- Mentor and support junior technical writers, fostering skill development and team growth
- Continuously improve documentation processes and workflows for efficiency and quality
- Stay updated on emerging tools, technologies, and trends in technical communication
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical writing, including team leadership or project ownership
- Strong understanding of documentation standards, writing frameworks, and style guides
- Proficiency with authoring tools such as MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker, or similar
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
- Ability to simplify complex technical information for diverse audiences
- Experience managing documentation projects and collaborating across teams
- Strong focus on quality and customer experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, or a related field
- Master’s degree (preferred)
