Job Title: Network Systems Administrator (Azure)

Our client is looking for an Azure Cloud & Systems Engineer to design, build, support, and continuously enhance a secure and scalable Azure cloud environment supporting mission‑critical applications. This role requires strong hands‑on expertise across Azure services, networking, security, virtual machines, and secure file transfer technologies, along with the ability to perform effectively in high‑impact operational situations.
Key Responsibilities
Azure Cloud Engineering
- Design, deploy, manage, and secure Azure cloud resources across compute, networking, storage, and governance layers.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, alerting, and dashboarding solutions to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Manage cloud governance controls including policies, role-based access, tagging standards, and compliance practices.
- Support Azure networking components such as VNets, VPNs, firewalls, routing, private endpoints, and hybrid connectivity.
- Provision and support Windows and Linux virtual machines and related Azure services.
- Support cloud-hosted applications and platform components.
- Administer secure file transfer solutions such as SFTP and managed file transfer platforms.
Systems Engineering & Operations
- Maintain and troubleshoot enterprise infrastructure, networks, and virtualized environments.
- Document cloud architectures, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with DevOps, application, and database teams to deliver secure, scalable, and highly available systems.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support after-hours incident response.
Operational Excellence
- Perform advanced troubleshooting using standard system and network diagnostic tools.
- Provide reliable task estimates and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Take a proactive, detail-oriented, and self-directed approach to problem solving.
- Rapidly learn and adopt new technologies through hands-on experimentation.
Required Experience & Skills
- 4 years of experience building and supporting cloud-based solutions.
- 3 years in an Azure-focused engineering role.
- Strong experience designing, securing, and maintaining Azure infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, VPNs, firewalls, NSGs, and VNet peering.
- 3 years administering Windows Server environments (Linux experience is a plus).
- Strong scripting skills, particularly with PowerShell.
- Experience with security technologies including VPNs, firewalls, and secure file transfer platforms.
- Advanced troubleshooting skills across systems and networks.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kusto Query Language (KQL).
- Familiarity with enterprise firewall platforms (e.g., Palo Alto).
- Exposure to healthcare or other regulated environments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in team-oriented and cross-functional environments.
Salary : $90,500 - $150,800
