The Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing the global accounts payable function, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reporting across multiple regions. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end accounts payable processes across multiple countries and currencies
- Ensure timely processing of vendor invoices, employee expenses, and payments
- Manage month-end and year-end AP close activities, including accruals and reconciliations
- Monitor AP aging and resolve discrepancies or payment delays
- Lead, mentor, and develop a global or regional AP team
- Allocate workload and ensure service levels are met across time zones
- Establish performance metrics and conduct regular reviews
- Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and tax requirements (e.g., VAT, GST, withholding taxes)
- Maintain strong internal controls aligned with frameworks like Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX)
- Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and analysis
- Build and maintain relationships with key global vendors
- Oversee vendor onboarding, including due diligence and banking verification
- Resolve escalated vendor issues and disputes
- Optimize AP processes through automation and best practices
- Manage and enhance ERP systems such as SAP ERP, Oracle ERP Cloud, or NetSuite
- Drive initiatives like e-invoicing, OCR, and touchless processing
- Partner with Procurement, Treasury, Tax, and Accounting teams
- Support cash flow forecasting and working capital management
- Align AP processes with global finance strategy
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent preferred)
- 7–10 years of accounts payable or accounting experience, including management experience
- Experience in a multinational or global organization
- Strong knowledge of international payment practices and tax regulations
- Proficiency in ERP systems and AP automation tools
- Shared services or centralized AP environment
- Experience with process transformation or system implementation
- Familiarity with foreign currency transactions and intercompany accounting
