Empower students by making a significant impact as an onsite educator for learners with visual impairments. This contract opportunity offers a chance to support 20-23 students with diverse needs while working closely with school staff to foster independence and academic growth. The assignment is full-time, spanning 37.5 hours per week through May 2027.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active North Carolina licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (NC TVI certificate required)
  • Experience or specialized training teaching students with visual impairments in a school setting
  • Ability to adapt instructional materials for accessibility
  • Skilled collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including special education staff and families
  • Strong organizational and documentation abilities

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized and group instruction to students with visual impairments, addressing their academic and functional needs
  • Conduct assessments to determine student strengths, needs, and required accommodations
  • Develop and implement educational plans in collaboration with IEP teams
  • Consult with regular education teachers to ensure accessibility and inclusion
  • Track student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in meetings as needed
  • Utilize a variety of assistive technologies and low vision devices
