Qualifications:
- Active North Carolina Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) certification.
- Experience working with school-aged students with visual impairments.
- Ability to adapt and develop individualized educational strategies.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families.
- Flexible and organized to manage diverse caseloads.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide direct instruction and support to students with visual impairments, tailoring educational materials to their needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers to adapt curriculum and ensure accessibility.
- Conduct assessments and monitor student progress, implementing modifications and accommodations as needed.
- Serve as an advocate for students with visual impairments, fostering independence and self-advocacy.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and contribute professional input for student planning.
This contract position offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week through May 21, 2027. You will play an integral role within a supportive school environment, positively impacting the educational journey of visually impaired students.
