Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) in Lexington, NC

Bachelor's degree from an ASHA-accredited university, active Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license and minimum 1 years speech-language pathology experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Step into an impactful role supporting students as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) within an elementary school environment. This contract opportunity begins as soon as possible and will continue through the end of the school year. Working approximately 37.5 hours per week, you’ll collaborate with a dynamic team to provide vital communication support to students in grades K-5, with the potential for minor caseload adjustments based on evolving needs.

Key Qualifications

• Valid SLPA license or certification required
• Previous experience in school settings preferred, though healthcare experience will also be considered
• Strong understanding of speech and language development in children
• Ability to adapt and pivot with shifting caseload demands
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach
  
  

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapeutic support and interventions under the supervision of an SLP, following students’ IEP goals
• Assist with assessments and help in collecting data on student progress
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to integrate speech and language activities in the classroom
• Document and report on therapy sessions, maintaining compliance with school and regulatory guidelines
• Help adjust communication strategies based on the unique needs of each student
• Support parent outreach and actively contribute to student growth and social-emotional development
