Job description:
Pay: Starting at $18.00/hr 10–20 hrs weekly overtime
Potential Hire-In Rate: Up to $21.50/hr
Schedule:
- Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Saturday: As needed
Position Overview
The Material Handler supports daily production and distribution operations in a physically active, hands-on environment. This role requires reliability, attention to safety, and the ability to work in both indoor and outdoor conditions.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and unload pallets delivered to the work area
- Perform “cut and dump” tasks by opening damaged bags and emptying contents for reblend
- Move undamaged bags from incoming pallets and restack them onto new pallets
- Ensure organic materials flow properly through shakers
- Notify heavy equipment operators when shakers need to be refilled
- Perform housekeeping duties including scraping, sweeping, shoveling, and general clean-up
- Maintain finishing screens by scraping to ensure proper product flow
- Prevent material buildup under conveyors, aisles, and catwalks
- Assist with small bag line operations as needed
- Report equipment issues to maintenance personnel
- Meet quality and quantity standards throughout the shift
- Safely move, store, and manage raw materials, finished goods, and equipment
- Perform general labor duties, including outdoor work
Qualifications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in outdoor conditions
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance
- Willingness to work overtime and occasional Saturdays
