Position Summary:
Operate a cash register, prepare and serve light food and beverages, and maintain cleanliness in the snack bar area under the direction of the Food and Beverage Supervisor with the Park Director as the manager. Candidates must hold a valid Food Handler's card and be comfortable working in a fast-paced enviroment.
Essential duties and responsibilities
- Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner.
- Accurately take and process customer orders using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit, and mobile transactions; provide correct change and receipts.
- Prepare and serve snack bar items such as per-packaged snacks, hot foods (e.g., hot dogs, nachos, sliders, etc.), and beverages.
- Ensure food is prepared safely and in compliance with health regulations.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work area, including counters, equipment, and dining areas.
- Restock supplies and food items as needed through the shift.
- Follow proper food handling procedures and maintain required temperature logs.
- Ensure compliance with current food safety guidelines and health department regulations; must maintain a valild Food Handler's Card.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate low stock or supply needs to management.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning, trash removal, equipment shutdown, and securing the area.
- Provide excellent customer service and resolve basic customer concerns or questions.
- Work as part of a team to ensure smooth and efficient snack bar operations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head Chef or Kitchen Manager.
- Operate the cash register accurately, handle cash and card transactions, and issue receipts.
- Take customer orders and answer questions about menu items.
- Prepare and serve snack bar menu items such as sandwiches , hot dogs, burgers, salads, nachos and beverages.
- Assist with basic prep tasks such as portioning, assembling food items, and reheating as necessary.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Snack Bar Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications and Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, sill and/or ability required.
- Must have a valid Food Handler's Card
- Previous customer service or cashier experience preferred.
- Basic food preparation experience is a plus.
- Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group enviroment.
Education an /or experience
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Possession of valid Food Handlers Card
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk and listen. The employee is frequently required to walk and taste or smell. The employee is frequently required to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stood, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently list and/or move up to 30 pounds.
At-Will Employment
Employment with Silent Valley Club is at-will. This means that either the employee or the Club may terminate the employment relationship at any time, with or without cause or advance notice, subject to applicable law. Nothing in this job description, or any other document should be interpreted as creating a contract of employment or altering the at-will nature of employement.
