SHR Talent has partnered with a regional CPA Firm based in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Gainesville, FL in its search for an Accountant with strong knowledge and experience with QuickBooks. A successful candidate for the Accountant role will be skilled in managing daily accounting operations, reconciling financial records, preparing accurate reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using QuickBooks
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other financial records on a regular basis
- Assist with payroll processing and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Support the preparation of tax documents and assist with audits when needed
- Collaborate with team members and clients to provide financial insights and ensure accurate reporting
- Monitor cash flow, budgets, and forecasts to support client financial goals
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure all accounting practices comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and firm policies
- Prepare payroll and sales tax returns and 1099s
- Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations
- Enter and classify client data
- Handle routine client questions
- Work with multiple staff members to complete projects
- Prepare journal entries for month and year-end close
- Utilize QuickBooks with ability to train clients
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, preferred
- 2 years of full charge bookkeeping experience in public accounting
- Ability to receive raw data and prepare year-end closeout
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet and Windows operating systems
- Proficient with QuickBooks Desktop and Online
