Extrusion Operator – 1st & 2nd Shift
Location: Delavan, WI and Janesville, WI
Pay: $17.10/hr $1.00 shift premium = $18.10/hr (2nd shift)
Schedule: Monday–Thursday (4-day work week)
- 1st Shift: 5:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM – 1:00 AM
Overview
A growing plastics manufacturer is hiring Extrusion Operators to support production of high-quality products used in food safety, sanitation, and agricultural industries. This is a hands-on role working with extrusion machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Candidates must have at least 1 year of solid manufacturing experience to be considered.
Position Summary
The Extrusion Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring extrusion equipment to ensure consistent production and quality output. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion machines to ensure efficient production
- Load materials, adjust machine settings, and maintain consistent output
- Inspect finished product to ensure quality standards are met
- Perform basic troubleshooting and identify mechanical issues
- Conduct preventative maintenance and cleaning of equipment
- Monitor machine performance and report repair needs to supervisor
- Read and follow machine manuals, production orders, and specifications
- Perform quality checks and measure product as required
- Maintain accurate production and machine records
- Communicate with team members across shifts to ensure continuity
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of manufacturing experience (required)
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment
- Ability to read and follow written instructions and specifications
- Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting
- Strong attention to detail and quality
Physical & Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment with moving machinery and equipment
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed
- Work involves repetitive motion and hands-on machine operation
- Exposure to production noise and varying temperatures
Pay: $20.10 - $21.10 per hour
