Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, testing, and optimizing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) programs to ensure precise and efficient machining operations. This role is vital in translating engineering drawings and specifications into accurate machine instructions, supporting high-quality production standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise, mechanical knowledge, and proficiency with various CAD/CAM software tools to facilitate seamless manufacturing processes.
Duties
- Fanuc, Haas NGC, Hurco, Fagor, Mazatrol
- Ability to perform basic G-code editing if conversational limits are reached

- Prior experience in protype, job shop. or tool & die environments
- Develop and write CNC programs for various machining centers, including CNC lathes and milling machines, utilizing CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software such as Mastercam or CATIA.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints to determine machining requirements, ensuring adherence to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) standards.
- Optimize machining parameters to improve efficiency while maintaining precision and quality, incorporating lean manufacturing principles.
- Set up and calibrate CNC machines, including tools, tooling fixtures, bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Conduct test runs of CNC programs to verify accuracy; troubleshoot and modify programs as needed based on measurement data from coordinate measuring machines (CMM) or other inspection tools.
- Collaborate with design engineers using CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD to review designs and provide feedback for manufacturability.
- Maintain detailed documentation of CNC programs, tooling setups, and process parameters; ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing machining processes and implementing enhancements aligned with lean manufacturing practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in CNC programming for both milling machines and lathes using Fanuc controls or similar systems.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or equivalent for designing parts and generating tool paths.
- Strong understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, geometric tolerances, and manufacturing standards.
- Mechanical knowledge of tooling selection, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and precision measuring instruments including bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and bore gauges.
- Familiarity with GD&T principles to ensure parts meet specified tolerances.
- Ability to interpret schematics and electrical diagrams relevant to machine setup.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques aimed at reducing waste and improving productivity.
- Excellent math skills with an emphasis on geometry and measurement calculations.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate across engineering, production teams, and quality assurance departments.
- Prior experience working with CNC lathe and milling machines in a high-volume manufacturing environment is preferred.
