Extrusion Operator

Extrusion Technician Requirements:
- Minimum two years of sheet extrusion experience preferably running PP (Polypropylene) sheet for thermoforming applications.
- Knowledge of adjusting the extrusion process including:
- Manipulating die bolts to make sheet gauge adjustments.
- Making extrusion process adjustments to control sheet gauge, width, and finish.
- Operation and adjustment of the pull rolls and sheet winder.
- In process screen changes.
- Material and color changes
- Ability to use machines and tools used in the extrusion process.
- Familiarity with GMP’s
- Able to read and understand work instructions, perform basic math computations, and computer data entry.
- Demonstrate problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
- Lift 50lbs
- Walk and stand during the entire shift.
- Detect quality defects.
- Work in a manufacturing environment
Extrusion Technician Job Duties:
- Set extruder operating parameters.
- Inspect the quality and correct any defects in the sheet.
- Effective communication to team and supervision about line and product performance
- Work with departmental customers to improve material and process quality.
- Coordinate with team members line changes, startups, shutdowns, and cleanings.
- Adjust machine components to regulate speeds, pressures, temperatures, and dimensions.
- Reviews extrusion schedule or instructions to determine materials, ingredients, procedures, components, settings, and adjustments for extruding plastic sheet.
- Examine, measure and weigh materials or products to verify conformance to standards, using measuring devices such as micrometers or scales.
- Record and maintain production data.
- Move materials, supplies, components, and finished product.
- Troubleshoot equipment and production issues.
- Assist with extrusion maintenance.
2-2-3 Shift schedule/hours (Work week is Sunday through Saturday) :
- Week One - Off Sunday, Work: Monday & Tuesday – Off: Wednesday & Thursday – Work: Friday & Saturday
- Week Two - Work Sunday, Off Monday & Tuesday – Work: Wednesday & Thursday – Off: Friday and Saturday
- 12-hour shifts (Days - 6:45am – 7:00pm) (Nights – 6:45pm – 7:00am)
Compensation:
- Wage will be based on experience and knowledge presented.
- Note: $2.00 night shift differential
