Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Provide medication administration following prescribed schedules and protocols
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Support patients with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other behavioral conditions through behavior management techniques
- Drive clients to appointments or outings safely and responsibly
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Offer emotional support and companionship to enhance clients’ quality of life
- Perform first aid when necessary and respond appropriately in emergency situations
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home environments or home care is highly desirable
- Knowledge of patient care procedures and caregiving best practices
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s, dementia, hospice, and senior care needs
- Ability to administer medication accurately and safely
- Strong organizational skills for meal preparation and behavior management
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Valid driving license for transportation duties
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility tasks
- Compassionate nature with a patient-centered approach to care
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors with sensitivity and professionalism
